Sex & A Week Off

As I take a week to transition between my job at DC to one at CK I will be meditating to the twenty(!) disc box set of Sex & the City. You will find me in my apartment watching the ENTIRE series if you need me. I would also like to take this time to tell Jenn that I am not letting her paying her for my Sex & the City binge and she did NOT have to get Jerry anything for doing her awesome invitations. THANKS JENN (& Katie!!!)

Williamsburgh Bridge Challenge V.06

Today's challenge...well, they say you are what you eat. I met Hannah & Jerry at the L.E.S. Esptein's Bar (the tavern, not the disease) and went no-holds-barred fried chicken fingers, and fried mozzerlla sticks, ugh. I knew tonights run would be terrible. Fried foods=nasty feeling in my body. Nasty pukey feeling=bad run. So for me, my time went up 2 minutes, Jerry on the other hand uses the food for fuel and took 2 minutes off his time.

Eunvi

Our mascot came in today to see the new digs. Eunvi the Yorkie spent Good Friday with us. She is so cute - a matching orange bow to a orange ditsy print dress.

Sometimes, it's best to just keep it simple. The women of David Chu Collection think so too. In a sea of limited-edition-hard-to-find-line-waiting joints, theres nothing like a Chuck Taylor. Good design made simple.

Montage! Shower!

Kara is probably my oldest friend. We knew each other Kindergarden. That means I know her for about.....22 years. Thats pretty crazy when you think of how old you are, and how well you know the other person. We went through every public school classroom together, watched each other go in and out of phases. (Even the glitter eyeshadow, birkenstock wearing phase of Kara's.) Came into and out of each others lives, seen good and bad. We also went through the very beginnings of our careers in NYC, commuting at 7:33am out of Bethpage for a year commuting to our new jobs. Then she moved to San Diego - to be near her favorite thing, the beach with her man Greg. They bought a condo and raised two beautiful Cats.
I am so excited to go out there for the wedding. Jerry needs some west coast flavor, too. This weekend we celebrated her shower in Sea Cliff a beautiful party of the North Shore of Long Island. The event was a complete success becuase of Jill and Jamie and Molly. Enjoy the pics!

One of my favorite memories from working at Polo Jeans Company was the elaborate birthday cards that we made for each other in the office. Thanks to the technologies Apple's iPhoto and all of the Adobe programs with straight up creativity we made the most unique and extremely personal cards. It has been almost a year since I worked with the gang there and I am still getting the sickest birthday cards around. Lance's by far is my most favorite ever. This picture is the only memory I will have of it - it rotted by the time I got home. Lance knew my fondness of bananas from the beginning. Thanks Lance!

"Jerry" Graphic Designer at Large. My Boyfriend. My Roommate. Part child-genius. Loves long walks on the beach. Skilled in the art of Photoshopping.

"Amanda" Blogger. Troublemaker. Spends too much $$$$. Thinks Jerry is the coolest thing since sliced bread. Would be miz without Vicki on a daily basis.

Williamsburg Bridge Challenge V.06

Saturday commenced the WBChallenge 2006 @ the Williamsburg Bridge.
For those of you not in the know - Jerry and I have invited all runners to Challenge the Running of the Bridge during the nice weather. We time ourselves back and forth from the Manhattan side and back again and try to beat our best times. We started last year and enjoy the atmosphere on the bridge - the sights, the sounds and the air up there is amazing to run to.

After a huge dinner at Blue Ribbon Saturady night with Jerry and the Martin's we decided it was a beautiful night to run off all the escargot and steak we ate. So, we suited up and headed out. The weather was perfect temperature, but the wind was heavy. I think the people riding their bikes over the bridge thought we were crazy, 11pm on a Saturday...Personally, I think the bridge missed us pounding the pavement this winter because she was mean to my leg muscles - I can barely walk. Jerry said he was disappointed with his time, I was impressed cutting 5 minutes off my last time in November! Awesome start! (I am assuming climbing the five flights of spiral staircase at the David Chu Townhouse twice a day everyday has kept my legs in shape!)
