Office Space.
It was hard to get good flicks of my new offices. I now work in a multi-million dollar townhouse that was completely gutted and raised two additional floors. Modern kitchens, rooftop terrace, and artwork specifically commitioned for the space, its pretty fabulous. These are the stairs, which we have to climb to the fifth floor, theres no elevator. Good thing they are beautiful, the stairs and my ass.

Giantism
If you want to increase in size, email Jerry, because he got huge! I have no idea how he did it! Look at him sitting at the dining room table drinking Cappaccino and blogging. Maybe its all the blogging? Maybe he's slipping some crazy growth hormone in his drink? Notice how big he looks next to his computer, and the table! I just can't believe it. He's more than I've imagined....even after all this time. Incredible Expanding Jerry.

Old guys, Amanda & Melissa, Allison & Amanda, Sara & Melissa
Today is a special day, it is my bestest friend Melissa's birthday! Actually, while we are on the subject of birthday's it was Allison's birthday two weeks ago as well. I remember back in school, Feb would be a fun time at our house on 50 Prospect Avenue and at the Balloon. While its hard for us all to be in the same place at the same time, its nice to see all of us together on this blog.

I Love You.
Dear Typhoon,
Thank you for a wonderful night...fried ice cream, I love you.
Love, Amanda
P.S. Please thank Jerry, too.
Antiquing.
Today I was here. Spent most of the day at an antique swatch vendor. It is an entire 2 bedroom apartment converted into a warehouse of swatches, millions of them. The owner travels 12 months out of the year searching the entire world for these swatches, ethnic and vintage and anything else he finds interesting. Its pretty amazing the stuff you see there. Its also amazing how its all organized. Everything is hand coded and handwritten, bar coding anyone??

Be Mine.
He gets in for free anyways, but hes still a member for all those goodies....Thanks to my proud member of Moma, My collection of clear collectibles.
L. Louis Ghost Armchair
Philippe Starck, 2002
Starck fashioned a classic Louis XVI chair in transparent, colored polycarbonate, giving new life to a well-known form. Louis Ghost is a daring example of a single-mold injection product for indoor and outdoor use. It has a strong, charismatic presence and great aesthetic appeal for a Ghostly Christmas present that hid from me for a few hours in the apartment. Made for Kartell.
R. "Diamond" Ring, Clear Acrylic
Alissia Melka-Teichroew, 2003
There are no diamonds in Alissia Melka-Teichroew's rings, simply a thought-provoking silhouette imitating the conventional Tiffany setting. Wearers create their own traditions, meanings, and stories. Jerry said, "Happy Valentines Day!" Made of Acrylic.

Knit!
My knitting adventures led me to the world of circular knitting, which is perfect for kntting hats. Mike's hat was the prototype, and I've made 3 others since. Katie still won't give me a pic, so she gets stuck with that picture for now. I'll keep updating when I get a picture from her. Jerry's was my last one and I have him the yarn for his Birthday, finished it 3 months later, nice and belated. Better get started on a new project soon...I'll start doing custom orders, get at me.
Monday.
David Chu Collection Fall 2006. This is what I do all day, I design sweaters. I love sweaters, they make me happy (#2 on the list.) I find them intreging in their complex construction and materials. There are hundreds of ways to make a sweater look different from the next, and every single one that is designed is a challenge. Much respect to designers such as Yohji Yamamoto, who contiunually push the boundaries and craft some of my most favorite sweaters.
P.S. Looking for a sweater designer? I know a fast-learning, down-to-earth, talented designer looking for work, get at me.

Chains.
Things that make Amanda happy.
1) Trucks, specifically the 4x4 early versions of SUV's and the evolutions of them.
The Blizzard '06 helped me cross paths with this Series One military edition Land Rover Defender. This truck was probably built over 50 years ago. They don't design them like that anymore. Badass.
Lucky.
Everyone's got a blog. No, seriously, everybody...I read them everyday. I have a bookmark folder dedicated to these blogists. I see them too, people trekking around my neighborhood armed with a digital cameras. I overhear them brag to their clique, I know they are trying to make me jealous. These people and their announcements: "That's for my blog."
Seriously?! What's a quasi-techie girl to do? How can I get in on this interweb phenomenon?
Luckily and conviently for me I've fallen in love with someone so talented, so creative & so sweet, he took the time to get me on the blog train. Jerry is a talented graphic artist; working in many mediums and noteably his website design for Staple and Jerrydoesblog . Those are just two rainbow sprinkles on the sundae of his talent.
But, that's enough of him for now (you will find him daily on my left, here and in person.) I would like to present you with the first entry into blogdom from me ever. EVER! I have interests, opinions and questions and this will hopefully be where I will get answers. Where will blogging will lead us, I do not know, I am just excited to be a part of it.
